French is an integral part of the curriculum for all pupils from Reception onwards. Learning a foreign language in depth and studying a foreign culture is invaluable in broadening the mind and teaching pupils to develop their understanding of linguistics.
We are fully and firmly committed to the practical use of the language and our French lessons are delivered by a specialist teacher. Pupils learn how to communicate in both spoken and written French. The underlying philosophy is that French is both fun and functional.
Optional after-school clubs offer pupils the chance to learn other languages, such as Japanese, Spanish and Mandarin.
The best way to see the school in action is to book onto an open morning. These events last approximately an hour – you will have an opportunity to meet the Head and have a tour of the school led by the Year Six pupils. We look forward to welcoming you to Maple Walk soon.
