ISA Award for Outstanding Sport (Small School)
Judge’s comments:
“Maple Walk’s creative use of facilities in the local community is exemplified in its sports programme. Alongside considerable success in traditional activities Maple Walk has developed a programme of inclusivity with mixed gender teams and the introduction of sports such as seated volleyball, goalball and Boccia. As a result of this, these inclusive sports are now played across the borough at inter-school events, showing that a little ingenuity, a lot of hard work and an ethos of innovation and inclusivity truly provides ‘Sport for All’.”
Maple Walk was one of the schools shortlisted by judges for the Independent Schools of the Year 2024 the prestigious award overseen by Independent School Parent Magazine.

‘Great for Pastoral Care’
Pastoral care at this small London co-ed day school is a top priority in developing each child’s potential and ensuring everyone can be themselves. The Wellbeing Zone is open for lunch time drop in activities and the School Counselling Partnership offers weekly therapeutic support for children, parents and staff. School pets ease tension and enhance wellbeing whilst worry monsters and emotional regulation strategies are used in classrooms. Maple Mouse plays an important part in the school’s reputation for having a ‘family feel’. The walking bus allows all children to walk to school through the park with friends, easing any stress for parents and pupils before school. The small, magical ‘Wellbeing Wood’ and ‘Secret Garden’ offer healthy outdoor learning spaces for children and staff. Pupil voice is encouraged, with regular Heads breakfasts and hot chocolates with teachers.
Maple Walk School provided evidence of meeting or exceeding the required
