Welcome to

Maple Walk School

A small school with a big heart

Tucked away between the quiet residential streets of North West London, Maple Walk is a hidden gem: a vibrant, nurturing school community where every child is known, valued, and inspired to grow.

We believe the formative years are vital. They shape not only what children know, but who they become. At Maple Walk, we do more than just teach. We stretch without stress and encourage every child to discover their voice, their passions, and their path.

Our values, curiosity, creativity and community, underpin everything we do. We foster curious minds through a rich and imaginative curriculum, encourage creative expression in all its forms, and build a strong sense of belonging through shared experiences and close relationships.

Our small size is our strength. It allows us to tailor our teaching to each individual, offering high-quality instruction alongside exceptional pastoral care. Every child is seen, heard and supported, not just to succeed academically, but to flourish emotionally and socially.

We are proudly non-selective at entry, with no daunting assessments for those joining us in Reception. Yet by the time they leave us, our pupils are achieving places, often with academic, sporting or creative scholarships, at many of London’s top secondary schools (11+results). We help every child find their niche and grow in confidence, ready to take on the world.

Wellbeing is central to our approach. With smaller class sizes, daily mindfulness sessions, lunchtime wellbeing drop-ins, and dedicated lessons in positive psychology, we support each child’s emotional development. These foundations of wellbeing are not an add-on to learning; they are the groundwork that allows it to take place. By nurturing the whole child, we create the conditions where curiosity, creativity and academic potential can truly thrive.

Pupil voice is a key part of life at Maple Walk. From our empowered School Council to Year 6 pupils planning and delivering assemblies, children know their voices are heard and their contributions matter. Many take on additional leadership roles as Junior Travel Ambassadors or members of the Eco Committee, promoting sustainability and shared responsibility. Independence is further developed through participation in the Junior Duke programme, where children are encouraged to build practical life skills and confidence beyond the classroom.

Our commitment to the wider world is reflected in our eco-conscious ethos. The natural environment plays an integral role in school life. Roundwood Park, just on our doorstep, becomes an outdoor classroom for Forest School and sports, as well as a meeting place for early-morning athletics clubs and our environmentally-friendly ‘walking bus’.

At Maple Walk, children don’t just gain knowledge. They gain self-belief, empathy, independence, and a strong sense of who they are.

The very best way to understand what makes Maple Walk so special is to spend time with our pupils. They are the truest reflection of our school values and the heart of who we are.
