Welcome to Maple Walk. We are a forward-thinking prep school in North West London, close to Roundwood Park. We are a school with great heart, children are at the centre of everything we do, and every pupil is embraced as part of our shared community.
We like to do things differently at Maple Walk.
We are an academically non-selective school. We don’t have daunting tests for the children joining us in Reception, yet many of our Year 6 pupils go on to London’s top schools. This is because of the great added value in what we teach and how we teach it. Our exceptional pupil progress and senior school success has been recognised by the Independent School Inspectorate, who have judged Maple Walk to be ‘Excellent’ in all areas.
Our school values are Curiosity, Creativity and Community.
We are not a hot house, but we are academically ambitious for our children. We teach a dynamic, linked curriculum that aims to inspire children to be intellectually curious and to develop a lifelong love of learning.
Creativity lies at the heart of the Maple Walk ethos. We celebrate the Arts and all our pupils take part in our many artistic projects. We follow a rigorous knowledge-based curriculum but we deliver it creatively. We use adaptive teaching techniques to tailor lessons to each child with the aim of challenging them and to provide stretch without stress during their learning journey. We promote the skills pupils need to succeed in the future and find creative ways to engage pupils with demanding subjects, such as our popular ‘Rockstar maths day’.
We are a Community in the truest sense. Every child is seen and heard at Maple Walk. Our House system reinforces this sense of belonging and it promotes healthy competition. And we are embedded in our local community with numerous outreach projects, as well as taking part in Brent sporting fixtures.
We are an eco-friendly school – the natural world and the outdoors are an integral part of Maple Walk life and Roundwood Park is our playground, literally. The children have their sports lessons and Forest School in the park, and many will be in the park before the school day starts, either taking part in our early-morning athletics club or crossing it on the school run as part of our environmentally friendly ‘walking bus’.
To find out more about what makes Maple Walk so special, please contact us via our Admissions and Open Days pages to arrange a visit or call our Registrar, Stefanie Harvey, on 020 8965 7374 or email email@example.com. She will be more than happy to help. Our children would be delighted to show you why they love Maple Walk so much.
We look forward to meeting you soon,
The best way to see the school in action is to book onto an open morning. These events last approximately an hour – you will have an opportunity to meet the Head and have a tour of the school led by the Year Six pupils. We look forward to welcoming you to Maple Walk soon.
