There are many opportunities for music-making.
In addition to class music, individual lessons are given on a variety of instruments by peripatetic teachers, who are performing professional musicians.
Great importance is laid on the enjoyment and appreciation of a variety of music, and children are encouraged to join the school choir and musical ensembles.
From Reception (age 4), Music is a timetabled subject taught by specialists. The curriculum includes activities that illustrate important musical concepts and terms and introduces the children to important composers and works.
"Sport and Music are vitally important. We are looking at the whole child." Mrs Sarah Gillam, Head Teacher.
