Poetry Talk

Published writer and Maple Walk parent Olivia McCannon came to talk to Year 4 last week about poet Wildred Owen.

Our pupils discussed Owen's life and read some of his poems together.

Owen was a celebrated WWI poet and this visit was timed perfectly with the ongoing themes of remembrance, 100 years after the end of the war.

Olivia's published collection of poetry, Exactly My Own Length, was the winner of the 2012 Fenton Aldeburgh First Collection prize.
