Little Village Pop-Up
Clear those cupboards, raid the loft and do some good this February by donating your gently used toddler and baby items to local charity Little Village.
Following the success of our Christmas OneGift drive, Maple Walk will be hosting their first ever pop-up collection for Little Village on Saturday February 9th, between 10am and 1pm.
You can drop off your good quality items during these times, where they will be sorted and packed, ready to pass on to families in need.
Think of it as a gift from one family to another...a bit like a food bank, but for baby and toddler gear, instead of food.
The charity, who have 3 sites across London, have supported over 2,200 local families and fulfilled over 3,600 requests for help since it was founded in 2016 and their work looks set to grow in 2019.
As a result, they are currently in dire need of clothes for 2 to 5 years olds and a number of other items, including buggies and cots.
For a full list of what they need and what they can't collect this February, please read the guidelines here.
It is essential that families feel they are receiving a gift, rather than a handout and so please only donate items you would pass on to a good friend - nothing stained, bobbly or shabby.
Cots and buggies are best with instructions please!... these can usually be downloaded from the internet.
Give your buggy a good scrub before bringing it in or save yourself the hassle - American Car Wash in Kilburn and Brent Cross can do it for you.
We are also collecting toiletries for Mums and Dads, so that they get a little gift when they choose their baby items. This is great opportunity to get rid of all those itty bitty samples and travel-size bottles.
Doors will open at Maple Walk School at 10am. How to find us. There is no parking on site, but if you have heavy items, ring the bell and you can drive on site to drop off.
A couple of video tutorials to help you present your cots and buggies in tip top shape.
