The Friends of Maple Walk is a very active parent organisation and a vital part of the school community. All parents are encouraged to take part. Their involvement strengthens the family feel of Maple Walk.

“We love the school due to its small, friendly, welcoming feel. Our daughter has been extremely happy throughout her school journey. The parent network is also close and extremely supportive.”

-Simone, Year 5 Parent

During a typical year, the Friends raise money through a Christmas Fair, stalls at local community fairs, a huge social event which includes an auction, quiz nights, a large range of Christmas merchandise designed by the children, as well as many other social events. The money has been used to provide a huge range of things for the school such as staging, play equipment, musical equipment, a sound system, beet-box cameras, laptops, books, bikes, scooters and gymnastic equipment. Thanks to their support the school opened the Secret Garden, an outdoor learning space designed by parents and children.

Other events organised by the Friends include Book Week and Art Week extravaganzas, workshops, outside speakers, additional sports activities gardening and painting teams. These are enriching opportunities for parents and children alike that greatly enhance the school community.

The best way to see the school in action is to book onto an open morning. These events last approximately an hour – you will have an opportunity to meet the Head and have a tour of the school led by the Year Six pupils. We look forward to welcoming you to Maple Walk soon.
